Cal Cup U8 Mixed, U10 Mixed, and U12 Mixed Rules Modifications
All divisions are governed by current 2022 FIH rules.
PENALTY CORNER MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL PLAYERS THAT ARE PARTAKING IN THE CORNER. THEY MUST BE WORN FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE PENALTY CORNER UNTIL COMPLETION.
U8, U10, U12 & U14 will play 7v7 format.
Safety of all players on the field is the priority.
U8 - U10 - U12 divisions play with the USAFH approved Penn Monto "mini" Hockey Ball. This ball is regulation size, but reduced weight, which allows ball to move faster, especially on grass surfaces, and easier for youth to control.
U8 Division
1. There will be no goalies in this division.
2. No coaches or spectators behind either goals or end lines.
3. No coaches are allowed in the circle during any point in the match.
4. No Penalty corners are allowed.
5. A free hit for the offense will be awarded directly outside the circle and in line with the foul.
6. If a coach impedes the circle at any point a verbal warning shall be given by the umpire(s).
7. If the coach impedes a second time the coach shall be issued a green card by the umpire(s) and must be replaced with another coach or adult, affiliated with the team.
8. The stick may not be raised above the waist at any time during the match.
9. No Penalty Strokes, Free Hit rule applies.
10. Long corners will be taken at the half line directly up from where the ball exited the end line.
11. The ball must move 5 meters before entering the circle at any time within the attacking half.
12. The ball may not be raised off the ground at any point in the match including a shot on goal.
U10 Division
1. Penalty Corners masks are required for all field players participating in the corner AND must be worn for the entirety of the corner UNTIL completion.
2. No coaches or spectators are allowed behind either goals or end lines.
3. No coaches are allowed in the circle during any point in the match.
4. If a coach impedes the circle at any point a verbal warning shall be given by the umpire(s).
5. If the coach impedes the second time the coach shall be issued a green card and must be replaced with another coach or adult, affiliated with the team.
6. The stick may not be raised above the shoulder at any time during the match.
7. Goalies are not required in this division.

9. Penalty stroke are allowed. 2022 FIH Rules of Hockey apply.
10. Long corners will be taken at the half line directly up from where the ball exited the end line.
11. The ball must move 5 meters before entering the circle at any time within the attacking half.
12. The ball may only be raised off the ground at any point during the match as long as it is done safely. 2022 FIH Rules of Hockey: Rule 9.8 applies.
U12, U14 Boys, and U14 Girls
• Penalty Corners masks are required for all field players participating in the corner AND must be worn for the entirety of the corner UNTIL completion.
• Standard FIH rules apply.
• Long corners will be taken at the half line directly up from where the ball exited the end line.
• The ball must move 5 meters before entering the circle at any time within the attacking half.
• No coaches are allowed on the field at any point in the match.
• A team may play with a goalkeeper that is wearing at least, kickers, leg guards, and helmet OR may play with 7 field players.

California Cup Venues are located in the City of Moorpark, California, which is a 35 miles from Los Angeles.
The two most convenient Airports are:
• Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): International & Domestic flights in and out of Los Angeles, which is less than 40 miles from area hotels.
• Bob Hope Burbank Airport - (BUR): International & Domestic flights from Burbank, which is 25 miles from area hotels.
