USA Field Hockey and Cal Cup are working together to see if the U-19 Girls’ Division at Cal Cup may also serve as the U-19 Regional Club Championships (RCC) for Region 11. All teams interested in participating in the U-19 RCC would be enrolled as part of your Cal Cup registration and no additional registration fees for the tournament would be required. The winner of the U-19 Girls’ Division would also receive an invitation to the 2019 National Club Championships, hosted at Spooky Nook Sports in July, competing against other top clubs from across the country to be crowned National Club Champions. This is a great chance at gaining national exposure for your club as well as getting your athletes seen by college coaches. If you believe your team would be interested, please see some of the requirements below to be sure you can meet all of them to participate.
Team Roster/Registration Rules
All teams that would like to participate in the RCC and possibly qualify for the NCC must be USA Field Hockey Member Clubs. All athlete and coach participants with the teams must also have current annual USA Field Hockey memberships. Temporary Memberships would not be eligible for this event. Teams may roster up to 24 athletes per team, however, only 20 of those 24 players are eligible to compete in either the RCC or NCC. The same 20 athletes must be used throughout the duration of each tournament, and there are no mid-tournament substitutions of athletes. The additional 4 athletes are allowed to be rostered as replacement athletes between the RCC and NCC should your team qualify. Final rosters would be due by May 10. No changes can be made to rosters after your team has played its first game.
Club Affiliation Rules
Athletes that are rostered on your team must be affiliated with your Club. No unaffiliated guest players are allowed on any team's RCC or NCC roster. If you have players on your team that are in need of transferring into your club, please see the rules and forms for affiliation transfers on our website here.
